Mr. Garret's work has been quite interesting in the field of
usability and experience design for the web so I decided I should
have a gander at a published work.
Although a nice little read that touches on important elements,
this book is not a serious read on engineering a good user
experience.
I would recommend this book for managers and low level web
designers or possibly developers as an overview of user-centered
design philosophy.
Summary: The serious practitioner will not gain much if anything
from this book.
For a more juicy read, I would recommend Albert N Badre's Shaping
Web Usability: Interaction Design in Context or Mike Kuniavsky's
Observing the User Experience.
