Riley was supposed to have a great vacation with Kellen except that
he is pulled away for business. Riley remains on her own for the
rest of the vacation. Riley has a meeting with an old packmate
Blake, he has come on behalf of the pack leader is ask Riley to
find his missing daughter. This is the same pack that almost killed
Rhoan and Riley before they left. Riley agrees only because Blake
says that they will kill her mother otherwise.
While on the search for the missing women, Riley's thoughts are
also consumed by Kellen. He wants an exclusive relationship, and
gives Riley a week to make up her mind. Kellen is everything that
Riley has ever dreamed up and is willing to give her all that her
heart desires. The only thing standing in the way is her job.
A new human/inhuman club opens up in town, and the trial for the
missing women leads right to their front door. Riley can't find
anything on her first trip, but she does discover that there are
more that just the one women missing. Throughout Riley's
investigation, someone has been trying to kill her and they are
getting closer and closer.
Riley and Rhoan both investigate the club but things go wrong, very
wrong. The two are drugged and caged. The club owners are into
hunting female werewolves after one killed their father. They had
been the ones trying to kill Riley and now they want to hunt her.
During the hunt Riley finds the "trophy" room, filled with the
stuffed heads of their previous victims, and there are many more
that then they ever figured. Riley now has to get herself and Rhoan
out of this in one piece so that she can make it back to let Kellen
know that she is really for a life together.
Book five has Riley really embracing herself and all that she is
becoming. She tries to make all her long standing dreams come true
and this time finally puts herself out their to the opportunity.
Well as much as her job and the changes that she is going through
will allow. ***SPOILER*** I felt so bad from Riley when she finally
says yes to Kellen only to have him say that if he can't feel like
her protector they have no future. Now maybe Riley can truly find a
man who will love her for herself.
