The series is really gaining momentum. The romance in this book was hot and heavy and classic JR Ward. I'm a bit concerned that I care more (in each book) for the romantic leads and the targets that need saving, than I do for the savior himself. But Heron is growing on me. Slowly. I like that the story is unpredictable in that Heron isn't always going to save the day, and sometimes Devina will prevail ... much to our chagrin.

Round 3 of 7, with the focus of round 4 revealed. We lose an angel friend unfortunately, and I wonder how our rag tag heroes are going to get along without him. Sissy from the previous book is finally laid to rest, even though her soul is still trapped. Well one half of Jim's battle is over at least. Interesting choice of soul to save in this one, and I love the chemistry between the main characters although she was kinda stupid near the end. I must admit Envy redeemed the Fallen Angels for me. I loved Covet, Crave was so so, and Envy is awesome.

So I guess we all should add another point to the Warden's score board of awesome books because this is the best of the Fallen Angels series thus far, like wow. The main characters in this book include someone we already know if you are familiar with the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, and if your not then WHAT THE H$LL IS WRONG WITH YOU, annnnway moving on, Veck is our main guy in this book and again we all met him in Lover Unleashed which made this book even more great because this was unexpected turn, then of course we have our love interest Reilly and let me just say that I fell in love with these characters thyt were amazing and then of course we have all our regular buddies fighting for the world. The storyline for this book was so amazing I was completley glued to the pages and I wanted to find out what would happen with this story and with the characters. Now I have to say I'm still not a big fan of Devina but even I will admit that she is the ultimate bad guy or girl in this case, and I love that Jim decides to pull some of her strings in this book. There were some twists and turns that I wasn't expecting and I found myself gasping in some areas because of what was going on. One of the things that made this book great though had to be the writing style, I have to agree with other reviewers and say that I think Ward has gotten in to her groove for this series and she did a great job. Overall guys this was a great book it has everything you need and expect from the Warden and I highly recommend this book/series even though it starts off a bit rough it becomes smooth in no time. :0)

As others have mentioned this is the best yet from Ward's Fallen Angels series. She seems to have gotten the mix just right here and I found myself completely caught up in the story, it's romance and all the many sub characters and their ongoing battles. I suppose introducing the hero in the last BDB book (LOVER UNLEASHED) didn't hurt matters, as from the get-go I was wondering how a Vampire attack and Veck's subsequent "memory loss" was going to be explained. However the two series feel very different to me now, and even though I can still feel the BDB world in the background, its no longer a distraction.(I do become a squealing fan girl when I find those cameos though) Speeding black Escalade in the rain or old landlord in a butlers uniform anyone. I would describe this as a romance wrapped in urban fantasy. The mix works though, along with Ward's usual hilarious male banter, excessive product placement, seriously hot love scenes and a few major surprises -which we should see the trickle down effect from for several books to come. I also feel that she finally got the romance right here; I enjoyed Veck and Reilly and found myself rooting for their HEA. Through some unique world building we also get a much closer look at arch angels Nigel and Colin(who are growing on me) and of course our sexy saviour Jim and his fallen angel sidekicks Adrian and Eddie... (Sigh) Lastly I have to mention Devina. She is just awesome, probably Ward's best female character to date and a superb villain. Yes she is evil but she is also so much more, what with her therapy sessions, hoarding issues, insecurities and school girl crush on Jim -which let me tell you he uses to his full advantage. Alls fair in love and war. As with all of Ward's books there are many characters fighting for POV time; popping us back and forth between hero and heroine, into heaven and hell and the minds of angels, demons and anyone else caught in the crossfire of battle #3. I can honestly say though that I didn't ever want to skip any of their sections (Lessers) as each POV was an integral part of the story and more than held my interest. Yes, the WARDen got it right with ENVY and I can't wait to find out what happens next. Homicide detective Thomas "Veck" Delvecchio is convinced he's just killed a man. Haunted by the legacy of his serial killer father and followed by a dark shadow, it was really only a matter of time until he gave in to the dark side. The problem is he doesn't remember the attack and the evidence says he's innocent. Sent to monitor Veck is internal affairs officer Sophia Reilly whose interest in Veck grows increasingly personal as they share pizza and a mutual admiration for Victoria's Secret. Entwined in their budding romance is Jim Heron, now facing the 3rd round in the ultimate end game of good VS evil. He and his two back up angels have been given the task of battling against the devil for Veck's very soul. Bringing our group together is Reilly and Veck's investigation of missing person Sissy Barton. She is of course being held by Devina (CRAVE) Jim is determined to find her body and retrieve her soul from hell whatever the consequences which gives him more reason then ever to shadow Veck, who's own internal struggle is just beginning. Honestly I could go on and on about the plot. So much happens and I`m not doing it justice here so I will stop. It is intricate, shocking, suspenseful, exciting, sexy and just well played. Cheers

I wasnt even aware this was coming out until I seen it in the book store I am soo excited to peel into and and I am also absolutely thrilled that these come out in pb instead of hardcover much nicer on my wallet :):) thank you miss J R Ward LOVE U
