Although I wasn't totally into this novel, I just could not put it down. The characters were so well introduced, each with surprises that you were not expecting. It was amazing that in a book with so many characters, you knew each one so intimately, and cared for each one of them as well. Great, quick read for me. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is just a wonderful book. It centers around a group of adults who get together for evening classes in order to learn Italian. Through their weekly sessions, we get a marvelous glimpse into their lives in Dublin. Maeve Binchy has a wonderful knack for developing characters and storylines. I would recommend this book to anyone.
