Exile Hostile in ways that a surface-dweller could never know, the tunnel-mazes of the Underdark challenge all who tread there. Among these souls are Drizzt Do''Urden and his magical cat, Guenhwyvar. Exiled from his drow homeland, Drizzt must fight for a new home in the boundless labyrinth. Meanwhile, he must watch for signs of pursuit -- for the dark elves are not a forgiving race.

Vivid tale of hardship and friendship 4

This review is from: Exile: The Legend of Drizzt, Book II (Hardcover)

Of the Drizzt books I have read, this particular one stands out as the best. Unlike later entries in the series (the Legacy of the Drow set, namely), the Underdark is still a mysterious place where luminescent beauty belies danger and treachery. The writing and plot are fairly simplistic, but here it works, as the poignant themes of struggling with lonlines, and the importance of friendship are unhindered by heavy-handed, pseudo-philosophical meanderings and silly subplots. Drizzt's travelling… read more

    Worst than the first... 1

So I continued on with the second book of The Dark Elf trilogy, and just like its predecessor, the second book manages to instill interest within me in the first 100 pages. However, also like its predecessor, everything soon revolves around Hollywood-style violence that clearly lacks substance. Salvatore is horribly predictable and dull. I only continued on with book 2 at the wish of my brother, to complete the trilogy he so vividly admires. Recommended for teens...

Absolutely Amazing! A great read for Teens! 5

This review is from: Exile: The Legend of Drizzt, Book II (Hardcover)

R.A. Salvatore has done it again. "Exile" is book two of the Legend of Drizzit. Teens can now enjoy reading with action and suspense instead of the boring history reports in school. R.A Salvatore brings a whole new character to life as Drizzit Dro'Urden struggles to survive in the perilous underdark after running from his mother and the murdering Drow. Drizzit encounters new evils, new friends and most of all the wrath of his mother. Other books include, Sojourn, The Crystal Shard, and Streams… read more

Dark Elves are Beautiful Creatures 5

What can I say, this book was absolutly amazing! The first time I read this novel about a troubled, young, dark elf, living in a dark place that was not his.It was very difficult not to read quickly and race to the last of his story. Only after what seemed an eternity of despair with a race that was living a life of evil and deceit. The dark elf breaks free from the forceful grip of darkness, and journeys towards a life of growth in the way of the good.
The first novel that Salvator wrote of… read more

It's lovely. Everyone can relate to drizzt, in his problems, because Salvatore puts the plot forth in such a way that it seems, like you're there.
