Faeries Gone Wild

by MaryJanice Davidson, Michele Hauf, Lois Greiman

St. Martin's Press | June 2, 2009 | Mass Market Paperbound

MARYJANICE DAVIDSON   "Tall, Dark and Not So Faery"

Scarlett is not your typical pint-sized faery. At six feet, four inches tall, she's an unlikely candidate for a match made in heaven. But when she ventures to Cannon Falls, Minnesota, on royal orders to survey its extraordinary residents, she stumbles upon the one man who just may measure up to size…

LOIS GREIMAN "Pixie Lust"

William Timber is a cutthroat developer who refuses to let a few trees come between him and his next million. But when Avalina-a sparkling faery charged to protect all things green-comes to town, William is forced to choose between life as he knows it and the unknown reaches of his heart.

MICHELE HAUF "Dust Me, Baby, One More Time"

A librarian by day and a tooth faery by night, Sidney has absolutely no time to find Mr. Right. Until she flies smack dab into sexy, sun-bronzed Dart Sand, a man who makes her wings a-flutter…and whose allure could get her banished from the Mortal Realm.

LEANDRA LOGAN "A Little Bit Faery"

Tia is mystified when she strikes out on the Luna faery singles scene, in spite of her hourglass curves and vivacious charm. Then she takes off for Manhattan and lands on the doorstep of a steamy firefighter who sets her soul on fire-and shares a strong connection to her secret past.

This is a book of four short stories by four different authors.

First, Tall, Dark, and not so Faery by MaryJanice Davidson. In this story, a faery comes across a house full of supernatural beings. Her job is to count them, but this is no easy feat. She meets the man of her dreams. A separate love story unveils itself as well.

I really enjoyed this one. MJ Davidson was the reason I bought the book, and thankfully, she did not let me down. You get to know some pretty unique characters, but Davidson doesn't go into too much detail. Just gets your appetite wet for some more!

Second, Pixie Lust by Lois Greiman. In this short story, a faery meets a developer and they fall deeply in lust. That's basically the story. Yet for some strange reason Greiman decided to spend over 100 pages discussing the lust between the two characters, and only 10 pages on the plot. Lust at first sight. I get it. BORING.

    Third...

Normally I like Anthologies. I didn't like this one though.

Mary Janice Davidson - Great author. Bad short story. The census fairy has come to town. She didn't count of finding true love. (get it? census - count)

Lois Greiman - I'd never heard of this author before. Not interested to find other works by her. Aaahh.. a big bad developer falls in love with an amnesia afflicted fern fairy.

Michele Hauf - I've heard of her before. Don't have anything of hers. Now I no wonder why. A tooth fairy and a sand man. A match made in small town heaven?

Leandra Logan - Another unknown. I really consider this story the best of the lot. A half breed fairy comes to new york looking for love. Paternal and Eros.
