There's just too much about how secret societies work, how their
para-senses work, about the characters' bloodline, how the
characters reason out everything ... but there's not enough about
other aspects of the story that are just as crucial. Hopefully,
this is only because the first book is the "set-up" book for the
rest of the trilogy.
For a contemporary romantic-suspense, the romance was barely there,
while the suspense might only start once you've hit chapter 41 of
61. There may have been some hot love-making behind the scenes, but
as for what reader can get, there are only 2 "hot" but short
scenes. I think the book's description describes too much of what
happens in the book.
Chloe Harper and Jack Winters may be meant for each other, but I
didn't feel much of anything for the characters. Their para-senses
may work well together, they work well as a team, but that's about
it in terms of chemistry.
However, the plot is good and the setting isn't bad. The Dreamlight
Trilogy may be a great trilogy as the premise is interesting and
intriguing, but Book One of this trilogy (also Book Seven of the
Arcane Society novels) didn't do the trick for me.
