This is a good book! Everyone in a relationship should read this book.

The Five Love Languages is a great read. I liked how the author split the book into sections to describe each love language and shared stories from clients who wanted to improve or save their relationship. It also made so much sense at how important it is to be in tune with each other's love language, otherwise so many conflicts arise unnecessarily. It seems like knowing what your partner's love language is really helps in how you can communicate effectively instead of just grasping at straws or being mind readers. Respect and patience go a long way when effort is displayed. This book wasn't filled with alot of jargon, but real situations that i'm sure many people have encountered. There were also easy to understand recommendations on how to enhance each partner's chosen love language at the end of each chapter. The only part I couldn't really relate to was the whole Christian religious paragraphs that Gary Chapman kept reverting back to. However, I took it into a more spiritual context for the purpose of my reading and was able to connect that way. Although I think that some people might sway from one love language to another at different stages of their relationship, one or two definitely stand out from the rest as a whole. Definitely recommend this book to foster healthy communication in relationships and to reduce the times of "go and sleep on the couch tonight."

This book has one basic premise, that everyone communicates love differently and knowing how your partner, child, co-worker, friend communicates can help you to be a better partner, parent, etc. Very practical, and applicable. Great resource.

For anyone who has trouble expressing their feelings towards someone they truly care about, this is the book to read. It is well written and a fast read. In my opinion, you may find that caring and intimacy will return to your relationship after instituting some of the ideas presented here.

I read this book years ago, before my wife and I married. It has helped us both to understand wordless expressions of love. Our oldest son is now getting married and we have suggested that he and his soon-to-be wife read it too. In my opinion, this book out does pre-marriage counselling and it will help avoid a trip to the counsellor after the wedding.

It's like this author knew me. I got a lot out of reading his book "The Five love languages"

As I have been divorced for 3 years now, I have been looking for the right person but as I was dating, I realized that working hard at a relationship instead of finding the perfect person is a must. Since I have read this book, I know what to do to be happy and to make the other person happy. Yes, of course, the other person needs to have some compabilities with you but much more is needed within a great relationship. I still have not remarried but now since I have read the book, my dates are turning into weeks and more now. This book has only about 200 pages and it's pretty fast to read and is very powerfull.
