    One of Moore's best works

From Hell has never gotten as much credit as Alan Moore's other graphic novels, in spite of being adapted into a movie starring Johnny Depp. The movie of From Hell was pretty good, but it barely scratched the surface of Moore and Campbell's work. The violent subject matter (Jack The Ripper) may scare off some, but this is much more than a crime story. Moore has taken a single historical event and extrapolated from it to comment on the very nature of reality. This is challenging and at times disturbing, but there is definitely a lot to appreciate.

Sarah- If you liked the movie, you might like the book, but it is a lot darker and longer. The movie basically took the plot from the book, but a lot of the background and philisophical ideas had to be simplified (if theyu hadn't, the movie would be about 60 hours long!)

hm, I think I'm going to look into this book. I really loved the movie, and I'm rather intrigued by serial killers, so I think this would be right up my alley.
