Reviews

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I Surrender Even though this book was well written, and even funny at times, I could not finish this book. I read roughly 180 pages, out of 283 pages. I found myself getting to frustrated with the writer Roger Caron. This man just keeps making the same mistakes over, and over again. Think of this book as the movie Ground Day, But the star of the movie gets worse, instead of better at the end of the movie. For example, twice in the book when Mr. Caron was out on parole he was back in jail less then two weeks, after being out on parole. And remember I did not finish the book, out of frustration. So it may have been more then twice. This man never did learn anything. The last time he want to jail was for robbing a Zellers store, when was in his 60's. Yes, he had a bad home life. Yes, he was mistreated in prison at the times, but so what. At some point in life, you need to step up, and be a grown up. This man never did become grown up. He was always a 12 year old, in a body that was to big for his mentality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sad, no? This book was a true eye opener about the prison system. Anyone who thinks that convicts are living in the lap of luxury should read this book, because hopefully your perspective will change. Also, having met Mr Caron, it is easy to see how the media creates false images of these men; Mr Caron is hardly the criminal he has been made out to be...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW! My dad bought this book because Roger Caron is from our city of Cornwall. I've always loved true crime books and he told me this one was from the criminals side of the story. It is now one of my favorite books, along with his second book BINGO! However, like the previous reviewer, I can not find JOJO and Dreamcaper and would love to. Anyone who has copies of these and any readable condition, please email me with Rgoer Caron as the subject line.
