Good Food For All is very a special cookbook from
The Stop Community Food
Centre, an innovative and respected not-for-profit
organization in Toronto who work hard to ensure that
low-income people have a voice and stake in affordable, healthy
food. With programs ranging from community gardens to a drop-in
café, from peer advocacy to cooking classes, from a health
initiative for low-income pregnant women to a food bank, The
Stop uses food as powerful tool to build hope, health, skills and
community.
With 80 delicious recipes divided according to the four seasons
and 32 gorgeous photographs by James Tse and Jodi Pudge to
accompany them, as well as contributions from celebrated food
writer Sasha Chapman, it's a cookbook for the serious foodie and
family cook alike. The recipes embrace local, seasonal eating
and aims to raise awareness about the connections between food and
social justice, health, the environment and community.
Endorsed by chef Jamie Kennedy, Good Food for All is
being created entirely on the strength and commitment of volunteers
in the book and food industry with all proceeds going to The Stop's
important work.
