This is a classic children's book that should be shared, and read to every kid!

We bought this book because we've always heard it referenced as being great. Wow. It's terrible.

I first read this to my daughter when she was born 13 years ago and it became part of our bedtime ritual for years. When my son was born 5 years later, again it became part of the bedtime ritual. I absolutely loved this book! I am now purchasing it again for my sister's new baby and I hope she gets the same experience I did reading it to my babies.

I read this book to my son almost every night before bed. He is 7 months old now, but we have been reading this since he was 2 months old and as a result the book has a definite comforting feature to it. While he's not much of a crier, all babies have their fussy days and moments and if I read this book while he is in that zone, he will calm down, curl in and listen! I love having a book we can turn to that is so comforting to him. As well, because it is not too long it is very easy and natural to memorize the words as you read it (which really helps as baby ages and like to "help" turn the pages.

I have read this book so many times that I am now on my tenth copy of it. My son is now 11 years old but I am a childcare provider and this has been a favorite book of all my children. My son always chose this book as his last one before bedtime. He loved the book and the photos. Its simplicity is what captivates the children. It is a must for any parent to have in their collection.

I have been reading this book to my daughter since she was a baby. She is now 2 1/2 and she is reading it to me every night. She loves it and the pictures and color is just wonderful. The pages where the light is on, makes the page look like the lamp is really lighting up the page. It's a wonderful book
