I bought this book expecting to read a survey of a really interesting subculture. Instead, I had to suffer through a whiny and rather annoying text about how rough Goths, who can’t be so horribly off if they can spend exuberant amounts on eccentric clothing, have it. Instead of educating the reader of the heritage behind the modern subculture, the author simply talked about what modern Goths like, dislike, like a bit, hate a lot.
