From the Publisher

New in the series from "New York Times" bestselling author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels.
Lightning-struck sleuth Harper Connelly and her stepbrother Tolliver take a break from looking for the dead to visit the two little girls they both think of as sisters. But, as always happens when they travel to Texas, memories of their horrible childhood resurface.
To make matters worse, Tolliver learns from his older brother that their father is out of jail and trying to reestablish contact with other family members. Tolliver wants no part of the man- but he may not have a choice in the matter.
Soon, family secrets ensnare them both, as Harper finally discovers what happened to her missing sister, Cameron, so many years before.
And what she finds out will change her world forever.

Sad that it had to end, but ended well 4

In Grave Secret, Harris brings the Harper Connelly series to an end. It saddens me that I will no longer get to read anymore tales from this interesting character, but it ended very well.

Although I found the "formula" of this book similar to the others, it did differ enough with the family elements to keep it in my hands for two solid days. And although I get they are not bro and sis, the references to that all the time did kinda weird me out. All in all it is a great read. I hope there are more to come.

    • Unfortunately, according to Harris, this is the last book in the series.

Grave Secret is a terrific installment in the series. In this book we get to know Harper and Tolliver, and their families, a lot better. And finally find out what happened to Harper's missing sister! With Charlaine's usual high quality writing I read the whole book in two days (had to work in there! lol).

In this, the last installment of Charlaine Harris' series about Harper Connely, the southern riches to rags heroine, who after being struck by lightning can sense the dead, you have a final book that wraps the multiple story lines up nicely. For those who are fans of the series you'll find all of the questions raised throughout about Harper's past and family members are resolved. The great thing about Charlaine Harris' books is that even if you don't get your happily ever after, you close… read more
