I think that I read the first of this series in 1994 when it came out. At once I was enchanted by the whimsical mystery. For months afterward my sketchbooks were filled with Bantock inspired pen & ink creatures and layered collages.

I eagerly participated in their relationship by opening each artfully made envelope and withdrawing the detail laden letters. To hold the physicality of their letters helped to manifest their reality in my mind. I began to yearn for mail of my own.

I first read this trilogy in my teens & was mesmerized. A good 15 years later & I can still read them every year or two with nearly as much awe & fascination as the first time. What a treat.

Fall in love with the Griffin and Sabine trilogy as I did, each book, every page has that intriguing mystery that was interesting up to the last, I could'nt wait to get to the next suprise in every envelope, captured every bit of my thoughts! You can really get carried away opening another person's mail and reading it, imagining youself in that world at that time as either waiting for the next suprise!
