    Outstanding 5

I read these books many years ago, and I'm really wishing I had not given them away. These books are fantastic! A beautiful story about children who are sent away to Canada, for safety during the war. As "Guests of War", the children must cope with being away from their families, being with people they have never met before, and adjusting to new customs. Each book tells the story of the two children as they grow, the new challenges they face, and hearbreaking events over their lives. I… read more

    Guests of War Trilogy 5

Kit Pearson has woven a web of words that is grand and spectacular. Using her language to bring the story to life, she has creatively communicated the direct personalities of each character. I just love how the first two stories are from Norah's point of view, and the third story is seen from Gavin's point of view. Although the book may be meant for a higher reading level, no matter how old you are, I think that this is a story that most will enjoy. I loved it!

    A foreign land 5

This is an amazing book that captures the attention of young readers (which is hard to do). Norah is only 10 years old and is send to a far unknown land to her, with her younger brother Gavin. They learn about a new country and their life styles. Norah gets very homesick and must deal with her new home and the Oglives. Aunt Mary and Aunt Florance show her a new perspective of life. Personally I was very amazed how Kit Pearson could capture the reader's attention and keep it. If you still… read more

An amazing story for young teens who want something interesting and good for the heart. Some times I wish I could be Norah in the story because of the wounderful life she has but its not all glamer for her she really gets homesick for her family. To make a long story short I am going to say you will feel the same way I do if you read the book.

Great characters, a great storyline, and a well-known setting come together to make a wonderful set of books. This is one of the best trilogies that I've ever read. I couldn't put this book down, and I really felt for the characters, especially Gavin when he was only four. I've told all my friends about this book, and it's all their favorite too!

    A Splendid Read 5

The Guests of War trilogy was one book i could NOT put down. I enjoyed reading about Norah in the first two stories and how her life changed so quickly. In the third story I saw things from Gavin's point of view. It was enjoyable to read about what they each thought of Mary and Mrs. Ogilvie. It was also great to read and learn about what kind of similiar experiences the children had during World War Two. You mostly read about the War heroes and Adults.
