This one was a real indication that things in Harry Potter world are really taking a turn for the worse. Growing up fast, the characters are thrown into unknown territory and survival is key. This one was sad at times, and yet was hard to put down! Another great book!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the best book in the whole series. No other book can match it's excellence.Harry Potter enters his sixth year at Hogwarts, ready to leave the Durslys. Little does he know that this will be his final year at Hogwarts. Harry knows that Draco Malfoy is up to something but he doesn't know what. As Harry Potter starts his sixth year, he soon finds out more about Voldemort and Horcruxes... Will Harry Potter finally defeat Voldemort? Or will he die trying to? You'll have to read the book to find out more!

Once again an amazing book by J.K Rowling. This is the kind of book that is hard to put down. You just need to know whats on the next page. When you do put it down you just can't stop thinking about it. In this book you really get the nitty-gritty details about the characters pasts.

There is romance, heart-break, revenge, adventure, thrills and spills in there. This book I would recamened to anyone.

Now that Cornelius Fudge has been forced to resign from the Ministry of Magic it seems that the whole world is finally supporting Harry Potter. But nothing is farther from the truth: the dark forces surrounding the sinister Lord Voldemort are preparing themselves for the big fight and Harry Potter feels this very strongly. Harry never really trusted Draco, son of known Death Eater Lucius Malfoy who finally got captured and put in Azkaban Prison, but when Harry spots him at Borgin and Burkes he knows that Draco is up to no good. Harry is convinced that Draco is actually becoming a Death Eater like his father and will do everything to prove this. But his closest friends Hermione and Ron think that he is seeing ghosts. Even Professor Dumbledore does not buy the warnings that Harry is proclaiming. Again Harry feels that he has to fight this battle on his own.

Finally J.K. Rowling did it: she completely lost the balance between story and exposition. Whereas in the previous books she tended to overdo only slightly these side stories, in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince she completely goes beyond. Even the way she weaves the background stories into her narrative is becoming tedious. Again and again the Pensive is used to shed some more light on the main characters. The exclamation "Oh, not again!" truly must have been on the lips of many people that read this sixth episode of the Potters series. Even the extra character of Professor Horace Slughorn pales in comparison to the previous Defence Against the Dark Arts teachers and must succumb to the big monster of exposition. True. For most of the fans this background information is useful and interesting, but the author could also have put this in a separate Harry Potter companion or even an appendix. Many parts of the book suffer from this flagrant imbalance and more often than not I did feel compelled to skip chapters.

Amazingly enough, it turns out that Rowling did somehow realize that she was loosing the attention of the reader and decided to completely turn the rudder in the final chapters. Out of the blue the pace of the story is boosted and suddenly the book becomes quite a thriller. Maybe the final chapters of the Half-Blood Prince are to be listed as some of the best of the series so far. To say more than this would indeed ruin the experience. So my advice: gather (quite) some courage to get through the main part of the book and you will be awarded!

If you've read 6 books of the 7 in this series then at this point you are fully emotionally invested. You know Harry better than you know anyone else, you care what happens to him and his friends. The amazing facts you learn from this book will lead you to re-read all the others looking for 'clues' on how this adventure will end. Suddenly book 5 makes a lot more sense and maybe a lot of clues were imbedded in that story. When I first started reading the Harry Potter Series I thought I was reading some light entertaining children's literature. This series of books are so imaginative, rich, coherent, cohesive, wonderful! I feel very priveledged to have read them in the period when JK Rowling was still writing them (even though they were already fully formed in her head). Thank you JK Rowling!

this book starts out sorta slow but gains speed very quickly, showing the true reasons behind lord Voldemort's evil ways. in the HBP Harry is trying to look for clues that might lead to Voldemort's downfall. It also has a absolutely shocking ending that will send a shiver down your spine.

This is the sixth book in the Harry Potter series. The wizard world finally believes Harry, classmates no longer gossip about him, and he is just starting to get over the death of his _______ (dont want to spoil). Voldemort is gaining more power and the Order is doing all it can. Dumbledore takes Harry on "memory trips" through Dumbledore's memory, in order for Harry to learn more about Voldemort. Dumbledore has figured out how Voldemort survives, and he takes Harry along for the journey. They think of all the possibilities to find where Voldemort has hidden the numerous pieces of his soul and they work together, with the help of Ron and Hermione.

Finally a Harry Potter novel that doesn't take a hundred pages to get going. Although this episode is still lengthy, it moves along much faster than the last two. A few surprises confront the reader late in the book but I will not spoil the ending. I enjoyed this book much more than Goblet or Order and I am already looking forward to the finale.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J. K. Rowling is the sixth book in the series, which I found was not as great as the other Harry Potter books and was lacking in humour. However, I did not mind the humour part, because this novel was more on the serious side. I did love all the shocking surprises I received: deception, betrayals, deaths, and some romances too.

In this adventure, Dumbledore himself comes to meet Harry during his summer vacation. Thinking it cannot possibly be true, Harry decides not to pack. However, Dumbledore has something he thinks only Harry can do. Dumbledore's hand, as Harry notices, is injured with an injury that does not seem to be healing. Dumbledore is growing slower as a result of his age. Dumbledore has offered Harry private lessons this year.

Find out new pieces of information never before known about Lord Voldemort. Will Harry and Dumbledore stand a chance against Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters?

I cannot wait to discover what will happen in the last volume in the Harry Potter series.

This is, I think, the 5th time reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and I love it even more than when I read it the first time! I think because I've read it so many times, it has kind of stuck in my brain and every time I re-read it, I understand even more than I did the previous time I read it. Right now, I'm obviously reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and well, I really want to read more Harry Potter books. I wish J.K. Rowling wrote more of them, maybe like 10 or something like that. They are just so addictive to me that I can't stop reading them.

This book was okay but I found it overly depressing. I must say that the second half of the series is completely different from the first half. It's dramatic, and epic, and all of that, yet I feel J.K Rowling has lost her sense of humor somewhere along the way.

This is another amazing book from the Harry Potter series. I was not disappointed at all! This book continues to draw into the darker themes of the magical realm, and leaves the reader wondering what is next for Harry Potter. Thankfully not slow to start, the novel immedietly grabbed my attention and held it until the last page.
One of the more heartbreaking installments, but nevertheless one of the best. It sets the stage perfectly for the finale in the series, which was also fantastic. A great way to start the climax of a great series.
