Harry Potter's parents died when he was a baby. He was raised by
his aunt and uncle, who hated his parents, hate him, and tell him
nothing about his family history. On his 11th birthday, he
discovers that he is a wizard and has been invited to attend
Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
I really enjoyed my first reread of this first Harry Potter book.
I've been interested in rereading the series for a long time, to
remind myself of details left out of the movies. There was much
more focus on Harry's life with his aunt and uncle, and it was fun
starting over, as Harry meets the teachers and students at
Hogwarts, and makes friends with Hermione and Ron. I had forgotten
what an annoying goody-two-shoes Hermione had been! Once again, I
really enjoyed it!
