THE CONTINUING ADVENTURES OF THE SMART, SEXY - SUPERNATURAL - WOMEN OF THE OTHERWORLD

Eve Levine - half-demon, black witch and devoted mother - has been dead for three years. She has a great house, an interesting love life and can't be killed again - which comes in handy when you've made as many enemies as Eve. Yes, the afterlife isn't too bad - all she needs to do is find a way to communicate with her daughter, Savannah, and she'll be happy.

But fate - or more exactly, the Fates - have other plans. Eve owes them a favor, and they've just called it in. An evil spirit called the Nix has escaped from hell. She feeds on chaos and death, and is very good at persuading people to kill for her. The Fates want Eve to hunt her down before she does any more damage, but the Nix is a dangerous enemy - previous hunters have been driven insane in the process. As if that's not problem enough, the only way to stop her is with an angel's sword. And Eve is no angel. . . .

"Those who appreciate heroines with a good measure of spunk, sass and strong-arm savvy will find this a fun if fitful read."
- Publishers Weekly

"Mesmerizing . . . the 'other-worldly' atmosphere conjured up by Armstrong begins to seem strangely real. Armstrong is a talented and original writer whose inventiveness and sense of the bizarre is arresting."

After meeting Eve in "Industrial Magic", I couldn't wait to read more about her. I loved the idea the serial Killer aspect in this book. darker then her other books, Armstrong had me on the end of my seat biting my nails. I really hope that maybe she'll bring Eve back for more.

I was long awaiting the story of Eve. I always wondered how she would be like since in previous books, she was painted as corrupted witch. I loved how Armstrong portrayed not only the character but the world in which she lives it. While the storyline is as far fetched as can be, I loved the mythology of the Faiths and the "Wheel of Fortune". I loved the reunion of Eve and the love of her life and father of her child Savannah. I do love that she portrays the afterlife as an alternate universe… read more

Another great in a brilliant series....I think that the scenes with Lizzy Borden are a great demonstration of Armstrong's talent, and that she's a force to be reckoned with in paranormal suspense. Eve is, by far, my favorite character in the series.

I found the story between Eve and Kristof was awesome. I did find for myself that some of the story dragged on as far as Trsiel was concerned. If you're a fan of Eve and looking to read more then you'll love her reading about her in No Humans Involved. Kelly Armstrong does an amazing job with her female heroine's and I look forward to continue reading Women of The Otherworld Series.

    Good.....But Not Quite Gripping... 3

Considering my recent reading list, there can be no doubting the fact that I adore Kelley Armstrong. As a writer, she is intensely creative – as a builder of characters that are both intriguing and reliable, she is unmatched. Her ability to create worlds that are both supernatural and entirely believable is absolutely incredible...and yet, ‘Haunted’ manages to fall a little short. As a twist of new and untried fiction, Armstrong decides not to revisit Elena, Paige or Savannah. Instead… read more

    • Totally agree with you. This is the least favourite of all the books in the series so far. Still, it was a good read, just not as good as her others ... read more

You can't help but want to read Kelley Armstrong to see what she will come up with next, but I have to say Eve is not my favorite narrator. I like that she is tough, and definately enjoy the relationship with Kristoph in the underworld, but it didn't captivate me, I kind of got a bit lost with the whole ghost world, with all it's planes, and the angles/fates etc.. However saying that, I would defiantely read more about EVE, as Kelley is just that good of a writer
