    Couldn't Stop Reading 5

Every Saga has Beginning, Every Character had a Dark Past, Some are Darker than Others. An absolutely captivating read, it's the modern Tolkien. The intricately woven story with twists and turns all of it's own. The story explains Drizzt, the Drow's, history and heritage while hooking the reader into the series. It makes you want to read on, i recommend this book to anyone wanting an adventure, you'll finish it knowing the Characters. Happy Reading.

By Far One of The Best Fantasy Books Ever Written. 5

Out of all of the fantasy books I have ever read (that inludes Lord of the Rings), I consider this to be my favorite. One of my favourite things about this book, is that it involves alot of issues including, selfishness, religious fanaticism, sexism and racism; these elements add towards believablity of the world. Aside from that, the book's plots unfold perfectly; this is probably the best book R.A. Salvatore written. Also, R.A. Salvatore is one of the greatest action scene writers ever… read more

This book has to be the very best book I have ever read. Drizzt has got to be one of the very best characters ever created. If you like R.a. Salvatore or fantasy you have to read this.

Great start...but little substance afterwards. 2

The common theme in the The Dark Elf trilogy is an entry into a great setting with interesting characters, only to be later disappointed with a lack of depth and creativity. Salvatore presents us with the vividly described homeland of Drizzt Do'Urden, which is solely capable of capturing your imagination for the first 100 pages or so. The novel even manages inklings of suspense, which are later completely lost and unheard of. Beyond the first 100 pages, the novel sinks into repetitive… read more

    Best FR Novel Written! 5

This review is from: Homeland: The Legend Of Drizzt, Book I (Mass Market Paperbound)

No lies, this is the best Forgotten realms novel out there, and the Drizzt series is the best and most well rounded series. With an amazing and complex protagonist, Salvatore provides the essential glimpse into the world of the dark elves. No other author is more responsible for the splendor and majesty of the drow.

    Simply Incredible 5

This book has to be the best book I've ever read. For anyone who is into D&D then this book is for you. This book shows the upbringing of Drizzt Do'urden a drow from the underdark. It tells of the ways of his race and how he forsakens them by chosing to walk his own path. Everything from sorcery, to incredible fights, and vicous wars between families is found in this book. I've read this book along with a few other of the Forgotten Realms, and I can honestly say this one is the best… read more

    WOW 5

I picked this book up at a local Chapters on a lark because I had some time to kill and I am hooked on Salvatore and his story telling mastery. Drizzt is the heroes hero and has kept me up long into the night reading about his fantastic adventures. I've since completed the Dark Elf trilogy and am on to the Icewind Dale trilogy and will not stop there. Drizzt is a beacon of light in a very paralell world to our own and Salvatore has brilliant but simple insights on how to live your life with… read more

Homeland is THE BEST book I've ever read. I've just finished it and I can't wait to read Exile. R.A. Salvatore is brilliant for creating a book that is so hard to put down. I just want to keep reading. Even after the book is finished I couldn't put it down for the life of me. Homeland deserves a five star rating in my oppinion.
