House of Night TP boxed set (books 1-4): Marked, Betrayed, Chosen, Untamed

by P. C. Cast, Kristin Cast

St. Martin's Press | October 27, 2009 | Trade Paperback

The House of Night is a thrilling, New York Times bestselling book series that follows 16-year-old Zoey Redbird as she is "Marked" by a vampyre tracker and begins to undergo the "Change" into an actual vampyre. She has to leave her family in Broken Arrow, OK, and move into the House of Night, a boarding school for other fledgling vampyres like her.

It's tough to begin a new life, away from her parents and friends, and on top of that, Zoey finds she is no average fledgling.  She has been Marked as special by the vampyre Goddess, Nyx. Although Zoey has awesome new powers, it's hard to fit in when everyone knows you're "special."  As Zoey tries to make new friends and maybe find a hot boyfriend (or two), she comes up against all kinds of evil, from the perfect-looking, super-popular girl with not-so-faultless plans, to the mysterious deaths happening at the House of Night and all over Tulsa.  Things at the House of Night are not always what they seem.  Can Zoey find the courage deep within herself to find the truth and embrace her destiny?

    Eww...

    Smitten with the Written

Well, these vampire books suck (no pun intended)... I started these books thinking i found a light read and instead I found one story gruelingly stretched over 5 plus books (I lost count and didn't even read the last two books) and every other chapter is of the main character with a different guy! I would not recommend these books to anyone, especially kids under the age of 14. The first books might be appropriate but it all goes down hill from there.

This series is absolutely amazing. Once i started reading it i was completely hooked & i couldn't stop reading. I strongly recommend this to any teen who enjoys reading fictional, romance, action, and/or fantasy books. i found that it was so much better than the twilight series because it had more action, and romance and it. whereas twilight only had sections of action and romance from time to time throughout the novel. i would like to try this review short, simple and straight to the point so in conclusion the Marked series is worth every penny & i recommend it to anyone

i like the concept of this book, but i disliked it when the good people in the book have to be the bad ones in the end. also the bad people get to a soft side and become really nice.
i can all ready tell that it was going to happen because ive seen movies and read other books and there alll the same
i thought it would be a little more challenging for the 2-4 books.

The 1st book was slow in the begginging and then it got going. The first 4 books was really good, i sat at the edge of my seat wanting to know what will happen next, but the next few books were dissapontments to me.

the first book and the second book i was ok with. but when the main girl decides to have 3 and even 4 boyfriends at one time, i draw the line. How is that exciting or even cool. The whole series is her fighting with the school and complaning about her boyfriends, getting pissed off when one breaks up with her and then they get back together. woo surprise there. This series is a waste of time to read.

These books are part of the popular Vampire Fad, but please parents know what your kids are reading. I have read the entire series and the are pretty good for light reading but they are not appropriate for young teens. I was given these books to read by my 12 year old cousin and was very surprised by the content. With in the first few chapters of the first book there is implied oral sex. In another book, the main character has sex for the first time with one of her teachers. I am very dissapointent by the Author of these books as she is a mother herself writing with her daughter and romance writer or not, she should not be writing about sex in books aimed at pre and young teens.

I read them aswell, and to be honest there is nothing in these books that teens ages 14 or 15 haven't heard of or seen in tv shows, movies..or even the news.. The author does not get into graphic details about the oral sex or when the main character has sex for the first time with a young poet. I think the Author did a great job with this series.

Honestly... I could not disagree with you more. Sex is a huge topic for any teen. The fact that this book doesn't feel the need to beat around the bush is just down right refreshing! Besides we teens SHOULD be reading books with sex in them because honestly that's one of the most thought about issues. And on another note... You are a prude.

i absolutley loved Marked. Im currently reading Betrayed right now, but im sure it will be good. I deffinitley recommend this series for people as young as 11(like myself) and all the way up to adults. This is a very addictive series and i rate it 4 stars. I wish there were a little more romance between Erik and Zoey. Although that just might be my opinoin because im hooked on teen romance novels. Please read this series, it is truly amazing. Great job P.C. and Kristin Cast :)
