From the Publisher

A hilarious inside look at that unique species, the Canadian, and their thoughts on such diverse subjects as beer, sex, dating rituals, sports, politics, religion-and, of course, their trademark death-defying search for the middle of any road. Over 100,000 copies of this guide have been sold north of the 49th parallel, co-written by the author of Happiness.

About the Author

Will Ferguson is the best-selling author of Bastards and Boneheads: Canada's Glorious Leaders Past and Present, Canadian History for Dummies and the tongue-in-cheek survey Why I Hate Canadians. His first novel, Generica, was published in spring 2001.

Ian Ferguson is an award-winning playwright and humorist whose commentaries have been widely broadcast on radio and television. He is the creator of the live improvised soap operas Die-Nasty and Sin City and is currently writing a sitcom pilot for a major U.S. television network.

From the Critics

"This book is, in fact, a reminder of what Canadians do best: make ourselves (and others) laugh. Bring on some more Ferguson brothers."

I have to say I really enjoyed this book - but I can see why a few people have said they didn't like it at all - it's all about the sense of humour you have. I loved the comedic twists it put on everything, and was plesantly suprised to see some less known areas of Canada mentioned along with the larger cities that you'd expect to be reading about. It got a bunch of giggles out of me - and I will be buying a copy as a gift for some relatives this Christmas!

I read this book as an Aussie exchange student visiting Canada for a year and loved every single page! Absolutely hilarious, fascinating look at the amazing country of Canada and its even more fascinating people! One of my favourite books. Particularly like the chapter titled 'How the Canadian government works'....it doesn't! Ha ha. Go the VANCOUVER CANUCKS!
