This book is a page turner for those who want to improve their relationship with their children. The advices are sooo logical that it's unfortunate that naturally, we don't act that way. Somehow we need Faber's advice to realize what works best when listening and talking to our kids. It's an amazing book.

The examples really hit home - I'm going to get my husband to read it next. He's skeptical but once her reads the books and applies it I don't think he will be able to deny that it works.

This is THE book that every parent should read. Most of us think that discipline means time out when in reality discipline means to teach. When you read this book you discover that the how you say something to a child is just as important as what you say. And, you must ask yourself what you are teaching the child everytime they do something wrong. Goodbye time outs (ours have been reduced to almost zero). The book is easy to read and the drawings make it simple to understand. It is the kind of book you should read about once a year to remind yourself of what your are supposed to be doing as a parent.

This book gave me practical tools to stop the screaming tantrums that my 2-year old daughter would have out of frustration. Now I can identify the trantrum triggers before they start, and help empower her before her emotions get out of hand. It has helped me with my 15-month old too.

What an amazing book, every parent must read this stress reliever. The suggestions in this book really work. Every child deserves a parent that can relate to them in the proper humane way. I especially love the re-caps at the end of each chapter so that you can always refer back to certain areas with a brief re-cap. This is a truly excellent, well written book. Your kids will thank you.

This is an excellent, practical, easy to read guide for parents who would really like to connect with their children and build cooperation in their families. It explores the most important building block in encouraging connection and cooperation: accepting children's feelings. I have successfully applied the principles in this book both as a teacher and a parent. I highly recommend this book to all parents, grandparents and educators.

A must-read book for all parents! This book is full of useful, practical parenting tips. Your entire family will benefit from the ideas presented in this book. It’s written in an easy-to-read, down to earth way that you’ll enjoy. You can put the tools to work immediately and get wonderful results. (Just keep in mind that this book is over 15 years old, so some of the examples, etc. are outdated.) A new book I’d recommend is Perfect Parenting: The Dictionary of 1000 Parenting Tips.

Although this book is geared to parents, I think anyone who deals with people should read it. It's so simple to read and easy to understand! It even has cartoon pictures in it! The authors teach you specific skills that you can actually use, and you'll get positive results. I've tried them -- they really work! A must for every parent's library.
