Small Audience, Dry

This book had great potential, but the author chose to focus on a solely British audience, rendering many of the examples irrelevant. I found his techniques and suggestions mostly useless. There was a section that suggested how to "discover" your skill set used on each job, but then he neglected to expand this idea to the CV itself. Furthermore, although the guide was advertised as being useful for all different groups of people (young, old, etc) I found the generality led to meagre information in each section.

If one was to read this book without any background information, they would assume the CV was just the British counterpart of the resume, and that British people have no privacy issues. Since this is not the case, I give this a poor rating.
