I don't know why I waited so long to read Hunting Lila. I guess I just wanted to purchase it once it was available in Canada but truth be told, I really regret not purchasing the book before (online) once it just came out. Although the good thing about reading it so many months after its release date, is that now I only have to wait two weeks to read Losing Lila, the thrilling and toe curling sequel to Lila #1!! Yes! Which, obviously, I pre-ordered as soon as I flipped the last page! From page 1, I was like... holy cow! Sarah Alderson goes straight to the point and and gave me a taste of who Lila was and what she can do. Two pages later, Lila was on a plane from London to LA to visit her brother Jack, who she hasn't seen in three years, and his best friend Alex, the boy Lila has loved since she was 5-year-old and who she hasn't seen during the last three years too. From the moment Lila steps on the US, the story takes off and it doesn't stop, ever, until the very last page. Sarah Alderson delivers and incredible thrilling and action packed adventure where secret organizations, murder, revenge and a delicious romance intertwine to create one of the most enthralling novels I have read this year! However, and even though I really loved this novel, I did get tired of Lila gushing so much over Alex. Yes, he is absolutely swoon-worthy, but I got the impression that Lila was more obsessed with Alex rather than in love with him. But that's just me, and maybe other readers will actually enjoy that. Hunting Lila is an exquisite blend of paranormal, intrigue, romance and tones of kick-ass action that will make you pull your hair out, bite your nails, scratch the walls, stop your heart and curl your toes! Needlessly to mention the highly surprising twists that Alderson so brilliantly executed in the first installment of the Lila series. And did I mention that this is actually her debut novel? My God, Sarah Alderson is absolutely fantastic! Now, what are you waiting to read this book?

**AN ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE!!** Every once in a while you read a book that swipes you off your feet and takes you on an action-packed, perfectly romantic, and totally heart-pounding ride that you never want to get off of — that's exactly what Hunting Lila was like! I loved everything about it! From the very first page, Sarah Alderson sucks you into a super-cool world with various types of psychics like Lila. The way she describes things makes you feel like you're actually a part of the book, which makes all the cool things even cooler and all the intense things exponentially more intense. Lila is one of those characters I know everyone will adore as much I do. She's stubborn, witty, fun, vulnerable yet still totally kick-butt when she needs to be! And her childhood romance with Alex — who nearly tops my Boys I Wish Were Real list! ♥ — is the best kind of romance out there: sweet, realistic, swoon-worthy, and 100% free of insta-love! It was perfection! Well-crafted, fast-paced, and engaging to the core, Hunting Lila is a book that I'll recommend to everyone I know! It will suck you in until the last page is turned and leave you craving for more. The sequel, Losing Lila, can't come fast enough! BUY or BORROW?: Definitely and completely and absolutely a book worth every penny! Buy it for sure, and you'll want to read it over and over again like me! :)

Wow, OMG was this book awesome! I really enjoyed Hunting Lila soo much. Sarah Alderson is a great writer! In her debut novel she really shows how Lila is very special with her abilities.The intrigue and suspense in this book was AMAZING!! From the first scene of the book with Lila and the mugging and she then discovers how powerful she is. This is better than X-Men, but its also similar because you get to see that Lila is different and that her brother and Alex dont really know who they are working for. The plot was put together well, and had lots of action and romance! The unique plot that takes place since Lila sets ground in the US to visit her brother Jack and his best friend Alex who Lila has had a crush on since she was six. Along the way, we discover new things about Lila's powers and that there are more like her. The pace of the book was a good pace because then it all comes together nicely at the end, making me want the next book. The romance was soo full of emotions even between Lila and Alex. They have know each other a long time, even after they moved she still keeps in touch with her brother and Alex.The stair scene was soo cute when she sees Alex for the first time, it was heart warming. There were soo many scenes and interactions that I just fell in love with this romance that is developing. Lila is a very likable character because you can relate to her for her personality because she is strong. People will fall in love with Alex for his strong duty to protect the ones he loves, and he is smart! There was soo much action during this book, and it will not let you down! I was getting so nervous wondering what will happen throughout the entire book. Alderson did an amazing job with the ending. It had me turning the pages so fast that I had to know what is happening and the end left me speechless for wanting more. I cant wait until the second book because it will be sooo good!! I will be pre-ordering the second book because Hunting Lila was an amazing read!! **It sucks that this is not available to read in the US or Canada, but you can always order it online and that it will come soon here.

Ever love something so much you don't want to let it go? Hunting Lila is that something. I first fell in love with the cover. The gorgeous powder blue dress and ruby red heels; very Dorothy-ish, wouldn't you say? I cannot believe that this is indeed Sarah Alderson's debut novel. Usually in debut novels you will find unsteady paces and slight disorganization but Hunting Lila was far from that. It was well put together, unique and exciting. I loved Sarah's wide range of vocabulary, the words she used to describe rarely seen in other Young Adult novels. I really enjoyed Lila's character. She was great to read, relatable, strong but also very unsure about herself. Alex was just as great. He was strong, bold, and well...a God! I really enjoyed the military aspect which was wonderfully mixed with the paranormal and some really juicy romance. There were quite a few moments in Hunting Lila that had my heart skip a beat. To list a few; the "stairs" scene near the beginning and the connected "that was the moment" scene. They both brought back memories for me. Those scenes are definitely what sold me for the 5 star rating. I'm happy to hear that there is indeed a sequel for Hunting Lila, one I cannot wait to read. It's a pity, however, that Hunting Lila is not available for purchase in the US or Canada. The best way to purchase it if you are not a UK resident is online. It may sound disappointing for someone who doesn't purchase novels online very much but it's definitely worth it. I'm hoping it'll be available in the US and Canada in the very near future. Sarah also mentioned via Goodreads status that someone is offering to option Hunting Lila for film. For a brand new Alderson fan like myself that sounds freaking fantastic! I'd love nothing more than to see this great read on the big screen some day.
