Nine of us came here. We look like you. We talk like you. We live among you. But we are not you. We can do things you dream of doing. We have powers you dream of having. We are stronger and faster than anything you have ever seen. We are the superheroes you worship in movies and comic books-but we are real.

Our plan was to grow, and train, and become strong, and become one, and fight them. But they found us and started hunting us first. Now all of us are running. Spending our lives in shadows, in places where no one would look, blending in. we have lived among you without you knowing.

But they know.

They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They killed them all.

I am Number Four.

I am next.

Number Four, otherwise known as John, is on the run from the Mogadorians. He is from the planet Lorien that was destroyed by the Mogadorians years ago, and he now lives on Earth with his Cepan and protector, Henri. There were nine of them in the beginning when they escaped their planet and hid themselves on Earth, but now the Mogadorians have chased them to their hideaway and are tracking each of them down. They must be killed in order from Number One to Number Nine, and three are already dead. With his powers beginning to emerge, John follows Henri and together they move to a small town called Paradise in Ohio, hoping to hide and lead a quiet new life. But the Mogadorians are intent on tracking them down, and they will stop at nothing to kill each of them off and destroy Earth in the process. This book had a brilliant story that led up to the climax very well and kept you reading and reading as the suspense built up. However, the writing was not the best, and it ruined the book for me. There is so much potential to this series, but Lore has to step his game up and write better with more emotions, dialogue, thoughts, and detail. If he can improve on the next few books, this will become an amazing series. For now, it is just so-so.
