Imagining Anne: L.m. Montgomery's Island Scrapbook

by Elizabeth Epperly

Penguin Group Canada | February 5, 2008 | Hardcover

Lucy Maud Montgomery's scrapbooks from the years 1893 to 1910 provide a revealing look into her life and inspiration during the time she created the beloved character of Anne Shirley while living on Prince Edward Island as a college student, teacher, and writer. In Imagining Anne, over 100 pages of the scrapbooks are fully and beautifully reproduced in colour, and the significance of the souvenirs and clippings Montgomery collected are explained by Elizabeth Rollins Epperly. This beautiful gift book is a must-have for all Montgomery fans, lovers of Canadian history, and scrapbook enthusiasts.

This is an absolutely beautiful book that any fan of L.M. Montgomery's work will cherish! It covers two sections of Montgomery's life, and faithfully reproduces sections of two of her famous scrapbooks: the Blue one and the Red one. I love the attention to detail given and the explanations of what each item she scrapbooked is and why, likely, she did so. Great!

I bought this as a Mother's day gift for my mom and liked it so much I went to buy one for me. The book is simply beautiful - laid out in scrapbook style and perfect for any die-hard Anne fan!
