Indulgence in Death proves that Robb has the series back on track after a slight derailment a couple of books ago. This book was everything I love about the series and I thoroughly enjoyed the read. The story begins with Eve and Roarke on a much earned vacation. This first part is like a gift to readers and fans of Eve and Roarke. A little slice of life with our favourite couple. Of course, since this is Eve Dallas we're talking about, there is also a dead body involved, but the murder is quickly solved and the vacation resumed. It's when Eve and Roarke return to NY from their holiday that things get really interesting. The first case Eve catches after returning to work is a bizare murder involving a limo driver and a cross bow. That's quickly followed by a licensed companion and bayonet. The two cases are just too weird not to be related and although Eve sets her sights on the suspect (or suspects, I don't want to give it away) pretty quickly, the real challenge she faces is proving her theory before anyone else is killed. All the usual suspects (and this time I mean our favourite secondary characters) are accounted for, some more than others, and I was happy to catch up with them all. I love the way the characters and their relationships continue to change and grow throughout this series and I thoroughly enjoyed getting my bi-annual fix.
