Interesting sequel, 20 years later.

I know that's a cliche, but in this case it was the absolute truth. It normally takes me a couple of weeks to fit a book of this length into my schedule - but I finished "Innocent" in 3 days. It has been many years since I read "Presumed Innocent", and my memory is such that I recalled only the vaguest details of the story. This meant that for all intents and purposes, I approached "Innocent" on its own merits.... And I loved it. The writing is crisp, the plotline cerebral, and the characters have depth. I really enjoy Turow's style of varying the narrator from chapter to chapter, and even how some of the narration is in the first person, some in the third. Turow's characters were portrayed in a very realistic way - the heros have flaws, and the "villains" are human with their own realistic sensitivities and perspectives. I highly recommend this novel and hope others enjoy it as much as I did.
