    Good but confusing.

I thought this book was original and good but kind of hard to follow. I guess I am not yet familiar enough with Palahniuk's style. The character's names change during the whole book and the novel is not linear so it can get confusing. But overall, it was a good book.

Wow. This was my first Palahniuk, and although I was made aware of the hype surrounding this author, nothing can prepare you for the wacky, often hilarious and grotesque story line that is Invisible Monsters. I'm left confused about how I feel about this book. I can't help but think that Chuck woke up one morning from a disturbing nightmare and decided to put it on paper. I'm anxious to move on to another one of his novels and see what other directions his demented mind will veer off in.

I had to reread this book over a few times before fully enjoying it, but it's definitely in my list of favourites. Using just the right amount of dark humor, a helping of imagination, and a dash of reality, this is really a book that the young adult audience (and anyone else, for that matter) can enjoy. No, it's not for everyone, but if you're a fan of Palahniuk's other books or anything else of this genre, this is definitely a must-read. The story is twisted, but that's Palahniuk's style. It's his best work, in my opinion, and destined to become a modern cult classic. Oh, and for all you kids my age: Panic at the Disco's song "Time To Dance" is based entirely on this book.
