    Even Charles Dickens knew

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of dispair.... and Dickens was talking about the times of the French Revolution when you could see things as awful or wonderful and it is really from your own perspective.
Jim Clemmer uses this type of example and takes it to the next level, keeping you entertained as he teaches you how to lead.
I would use brilliant but I would prefer to say this is the type of book to keep handy in the office and to read snippets to keep energized and leading in the best way possible.
So I'm off the pity bus and heading for Winner's Circle. Thank you for sharing.

    A great guide to teamwork

    Steven Bryce

I am a big fan of Jim's work.

The Leader's Digest takes a lot of the principles that Jim has intiially discussed in Growing the Distance, and extended them into the team environment.

I think that really is pertinent to everyone.

Everywhere you go, various work situations, your family life, various community activiies, we are all involved in teams. Our happiness is very much dependent on how we function with others, but there are lots of issues that occur when multiple people get involved.

The guidance Jim provides in growing our leadership skills from inside is very helpful. In these challenging times, people seem to be grasping at straws as to how to get control of things. This book will provide you with some practical ways to focus and improve on things you can control . . . .yourself.

I think you will be very pleased and the sense of comfort you will bring to yourself and the results you will be able to achieve, once are able to use all the great tips and ideas Jim provides, distilled from decades of management development experience he has.

I have worked in several companies where Jim and his team has helped us with leadership training. We have found his material to strike a chord with a broad cross-section of people and have seen very good results with the types of ideas he explores in this book.

And his common sense approach to these issues makes it very easy to take some of the ideas back to your workplace and your family life immediately.

From the Author

I am delighted to announce the arrival of my latest leadership book! After months of hard labor, it feels a little like giving birth!

Since I first began speaking and writing about leadership over twenty years ago, I've seen the growth of a huge "leadership industry" with a multitude of confusing theories, models, grids, charts, formulas, and buzzwords. My goal with "The Leader's Digest" was to distill all this information down to its essentials - a series of "executive summaries" on the timeless principles for team and organization success.

Based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback I continue to get for the unique "browser's digest" or magazine style layout of "Growing the Distance," I used the same approach with "The Leader's Digest." I have again selected pithy quotations and added or written ageless anecdotes, fables, and humor grounded in the best leadership research I could find, and linked it all together with my reflections and commentary.

I hope you check it out and order your copies today!

Keep leading!

Jim

Review:
As soon as I heard of Jim Clemmer's new book, The Leader's Digest, I asked him to personally present an overview to our entire Canadian region management team. At this presentation everyone will be presented with a copy of the book, which will become required reading. Being in a leadership role for more years than I would like to remember, I have come to realize the importance of staying current with new and innovative leadership ideas and techniques. Growing the Distance and now The Leader's Digest fit to a tee the direction we at Laidlaw see ourselves moving toward. One of my pleasures in life is to see young, bright managers grow into leaders. For some this is a natural phenomenon, but others may need a little more direction and coaching. My suggestion is for everyone to familiarize themselves with the Leadership Wheel; this is what it's all about.

Review:
"I have read all of Jim's books over the years. I especially enjoyed The Leader's Digest. I picked up several inspirational and practical ideas that will help me begin a new venture at our University. I agree with Jim's comment that "it is one thing to know, and another to do." When I owned and operated my business I saw to it that all our employees had the opportunity to read Growing the Distance. It was a morale boost for all of us. The Leader's Digest is a very effective next step to expanding those timeless leadership principles. I plan to share it with all my colleagues who are trying to grow businesses in today's complex environment."
