Nora Roberts writing as Amanda Quick has a standard premise - an
unconventional but spunky heroine gets herself into trouble, but
happens upon an equally unconventional hero, who generally has some
murky past making him dark and mysterious in addition to (always)
being very handsome.
These books may not be terribly original, but they are always fun,
romantic, and usually filled with intrigue and excitement as hero
and heroine make their way through a convoluted path to the
ultimate consummation of their love, and a happily ever future
together.
Lie by Moonlight fits the bill perfectly, if you are looking for a
fun easy romance novel with likeable characters and just enough
mystery to add spice. It's a bonus that all of Quick's heroines are
intelligent, capable and independent women, in addition to being
beautiful, kind and dedicated to righting some wrong or other.
