It will surprise no one who knows me that I am not a chef. But even I get sick of the microwave, and occasionally, I remind myself I should cook something for my better half, and this is always the book I grab.

The instructions are clear, the recipes are easy to follow, and despite that (or because of it?) the food is fantastic - complete with total time cooking, and a symbol system for how involved cooking it will be. It's also healthy, has ready-made grocery lists for the grocery shopping incompetant (guilty!), and has an amazing range of options for the plain pallette to the spicier fare. I keep glancing at other cookbooks, but always come back to this one.

OMG! I love this cookbook. The chicken terayaki toss-up with honey curried pasta (that is a made up name, but what we call it at our house because we eat it constantly) is one of the greatest recipes ever. I have all her cookbooks but this one is the best.
