I have 4 children ages 8 and under and the oldest was the only one who really stayed glued to me while I read, the others tended to wander. Which I understand as this is a little out of their grasp.

I remember reading this when I was a child and how descriptive it was I could picture Narnia in my head. My daughter would have had me read all night from start to finish. She loved it too, of course! There was lots of questions from her and It gave opportunity to talk about them.
