I have 4 children ages 8 and under and the oldest was the only one who really stayed glued to me while I read, the others tended to wander. Which I understand as this is a little out of their grasp. I remember reading this when I was a child and how descriptive it was I could picture Narnia in my head. My daughter would have had me read all night from start to finish. She loved it too, of course! There was lots of questions from her and It gave opportunity to talk about them.

Wow although this book is usually read by kids I reccommend this book to people of all ages. I thought this book was great from the first page to the last. I dont want to give spoilers in case you have not seen the movie or read this book but if you like miracles you should read this book.

This is an amazing book. The writing is wonderful, the characters seem so real you feel you know them and you get a real feel for the place and time. I highly recommend this book.

When I read this book as a child, I was swept up in the story, cried for Aslan, cheered for Lucy and wondered what Turkish Delight was. I read it again when I was expecting my now nine year old daughter. I longed for the comfort that this book gave me as a child. I gained something completely different from the story. The book made me think of the plight of the children sent to the North during the bombings of London. When I reread this book again, with my nine year old, I saw the wonder of Narnia once again. The layers of this story are amazing and that is why this is a classic peice of children's literature. My daughter was was just as carried away with the Land of Spare Oom as I was.

A really great book, making you feel like a kid agian. It was really something to want to read, and think about all your imaginary friends, and fantasy life all kids think about. THe movie was almost identical , and pretty good too!

The book The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S Lewis is an excellent book, which allows one to use their imagination. C.S Lewis writes as if he is talking to you and telling you the story rather than from a first person point of view. His way of writing was quite effective because he was able to make it less serious and more fun to read. Each character in this book has a distinct personality, such as Susan who is always in charge or Edmund always getting his sisters and brother in trouble. Their personalities stand out and you have the chance to relate to any one of them. Although this book has religious ideas behind it, it is a lovely book which makes one wish that they too could find their own little world to run away to and have adventures. This book is full of suspense, love, friendship, and adventures. Some characters were thrown into the book simply as a way to keep the book light, and funny. The two beavers were the comic reliefs. Tumnus, the faun was used as a way to make one feel anxious and sympathetic as well as to make the reader want to continue reading to see what would come to pass. C.S Lewis tells us in this book that if one continues to try their best they will succeed. It is a loving story that follows the three children as they try to save the beautiful land Narnia, as well as their brother. The way in which C.S Lewis described the characters, and Narnia is beautiful and allows you to picture the setting that he pictured. I enjoyed this book more than any book I have ever read, solely because whenever I need to escape I can read it and feel as if I am in Narnia.

I first read this novel when I was a pre-teen and I still find myself enthralled with it as an adult. This book trancends time and is a wonderful read whether you're seven or seventy. This book must be read more than once to do it justice, it has many layers and I find myself discovering new things about Narnia and the metaphors used by Lewis in this enchanting novel. I wouldn't hestitate to recommend this book to anyone!

ThIs OnE Of ThE BeSt BoOk I'vE eVeR ReAd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a masterpiece of magic for children and adults. With the new movie out from Disney it will only introduce the wonders of a mysterious wardrobe to a new audience. Lewis' moral rigor and Christian intellect blend a delicate balance of a mythical tale designed for young minds. Characters are larger than life, riverting, rich, and personify deep values close to Lewis heart. In the battle between the fallen (Queen Jadis, the White Witch) and the risen (Aslan, the Great Lion) .. Lewis' imagery drives home the point that some things are just plain wrong, others are just plain right, and the reasons are for one's own good and the good of others. Curses can be broken and that is a beautiful rendition of what the power of love and light symbolized. One doesn't neeed to be a religious person or raised a Christian too get the moral of this story - that the reward for dignity out of love rather than fear - is well worth the battles within and outside of ourselves.

This has got to be one of my favourite books EVER...It was truly amazing. C.S.Lewis out-did himself in this book (it makes up for the rest of the Narnia collection which wasn't that great) my imagination was soaring to other places that I hadn't thought of and I truly enjoyed it..I have been reading that book at least once every year (since I was about 8) I am telling you, you will love it. I suggested my cousin to read it and she wasn't all excited at first but she read it and lets just say we have another fan..anyways my thoughts to you READ IT, BUY IT, LOVE IT!
