    Charming

Little Hoot is a young owl that enjoys playing with his friends and practising his 'pondering'; however, he does not like staying up late with his parents, and begs them to let him go to sleep.

This is a charming reversal on the age-old plea of every child: "Please let me stay up a little later!". The illustrations are lovely and depict a beautiful sense of a child's reality however, I'm not sure that young children will 'get it'.

The concept of owls being nocturnal and a 'little boy' begging to go to bed was too much for my three year old. Definitely for four year olds and up.

This is a lovely illustrated storybook about the trials and tribulations of bedtime. The twist Little Hoot (an owl) has to stay up later than all his friends. Little Hoot is like many little ones he wants to me just like his friends. But he must follow the Rules of the Roost. He negotiates only have to stay up one more hour.

The illustrations convey the fun that Little Hoot has with his friends and on his own during his late night playtime.

This is fun bedtime story for those little ones who want to stay up just a little bit longer.
