There are so many characters and plots in this book that I can't
really go into in too much detail. But here goes. Kalix is the
youngest child in a powerful werewolf family. She is an outcast
because of her attack against her father, a cutter and a laudnum
addict.
The story focuses on many people. Kalix, her sister, 2 brothers,
many cousins, her mother, her ex-lover and the humans she has
befriended. There is romances, friendships, the battle for the
Thaneship of werewolves, betrayal, etc. It's a pretty engrossing
and detailed novel. But it doesn't drag on which is good too.
My only problems with the book are 2 plot lines. The one involving
Malveria, a fire elemental, who is a client/friend of Kalix'
fashion designer sister. I found that character and the plot
involving clothes and fashion to be silly and boring. Also Kalix'
depression and self loathing can get a little tiresome at
times.
But overall I stll enjoyed the book and would suggest to others to
read it.
