Easy read with a few good sections. I found the writing to be a little juvenile in areas with attempts to get "deep" that didn't work. A good book to take with you to the beach, but not something that will make you think or blow your mind

Seemingly honest story of a few friends hitting the road in search of something unknown. Entertaining read and the writers give vivid descriptions of the places traveled. Not overly deep, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Why is it that the ebook is $11.99 and the online price for the actual book is $9.89? I had assumed an electronic copy is costs less to produce? *gave it a 3 star only b/c I could not post without giving it a rating - I have not read this book although I really want to!

In the genre of travel writing, this is one of my favourites!! It was like "Sex in the City" because the women are 30 year old career girls from NYC. Would be a great movie I think...

This book spoke to me on a personal level. As a woman who just turned 30 who was bitten by the travel bug many years ago, I have often wondered if I could pull off an around the world trip. I know I could but haven't summoned the courage and funds to actually do it. I cried, laughed and cursed at this book all the while loving every second of it. I passed it along to my best friend and travel partner in crime and she felt the same way we all do. Highly recommend this book to every aspiring and not yet aspiring young woman who longs to travel.

This was an amazing book and should be read by every woman around the world!

By the time they pack up to leave on their whirlwind tour, all the girls are turning 28-years-of-age. They make stops in Salvador, Brazil; Maasai Village, Oronkai, Kenya; Kiminini, Kenya (where they volunteered for a month to work for the ‘Common Ground Program’, a grassroots non-governmental organization that houses a primary school called: ‘Pathway Academy’ that serves hundreds of children, many who are orphans or have at least one parent dead or seriously ill); Lima, Peru where they hiked the 26 mile long Inca Trail which has an altitude of 14,000 feet; an Indian Ashram; and New Zealand to name a few. They make some great friends along the way and even meet someone who’s from New York! This was a most enjoyable read and during certain parts of their trip, I wish I had of been with them! This would make a great movie!!

I really enjoyed this true story about 3 girls at various stages of their lives in New York City, and their seemingly daunting task to take some time off work and plan a round-the-world trip. Not something that everyone can do, but when you read this book you will start to wonder if you might be able to do the same. Jennifer, Holly and Amanda generally stayed in backpackers' hostels and were able to enjoy all different aspects of each country while on somewhat of a budget. The way they wrote from each perspective about their travels through each continent was well-detailed. I almost felt as if I was along for the ride with them. They had some trials and tribulations along the way but found their way out gracefully and enjoyed the trip without letting their egos get in the way - not an easy task if you are travelling for a long period of time. Well done! I hope to see more of their stories in the future!

I was skeptical about this book from reading reviews on other sites, but after reading, i am so glad i decided to give it a chance! This story is a true story about 3 girls about to hit their 30's and they all feel lost. All living in the big bustling city of Manhattan,NY, each girl is in a steady job, either in a relationship or looking for one. Working long days and nights and feeling like their lives were doomed to stay the same forever they decided to leave everything they know behind them and set out together on a one year trip around the world. They travel through countries and across almost all the continents visiting places in South America, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. With many great memories and lots of great stories, we follow their lives through good and bad, the happy the sad, and through heartbreak and love. I am so glad i read this book, and it has inspired me to want to travel more!
