I bought this cookbook together with his previous title Dolce Vita as a birthday present to myself. The photos are breathtaking with many inspirational shots of his life living "la dolce vita" in Italy. There's scenic shots, photos of David in some beautiful old streets in Italy and their markets, and some with his lovely family. His little girls are so cute and beautiful! And lets not forget some really mouth-watering images of the food. There are a variety of recipes in here to suit traditionalists and those who want a bit of a spin on their Italian cuisine. However, since I own both his cookbooks, I did find some of his recipes were taken from his other book and repeated in this one. So when I thought I just checking out a different recipe, it was pretty much the same one from the old cookbook but with a different title/name. But that didn't stop me from not keeping this book as well, because there are a lot of great recipes in this that is so worth keeping. There's basics like pizza dough to more intricate dishes that makes you want to keep this book in your beloved collection to have on hand.
