Fantastic book. Rhodes produces a sweeping narrative from the discovery of atom, to its splitting, to delivery over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. A great read from start to finish. My only complaint is the call for the downfall of the Westphalian nation-state system for Niels Bohr's "open society" smacks of a naive moralizing that is out of place and beyond the scope of Rhodes' understanding. With the monumental achieving of 750+ page epic narrative, a critique of the epilogue is a small one.
