Not what I was expecting, but equally remarkable. Auster's stories,
to me, lean towards human emotion and process of thought, and this
is no exception. It promotes values of the harshness of life, love,
war, and most importantly, the idealism of family. Bouncing between
stories in the mind of a man, lonesome, but not alone, the stories
have not only moral meanings and extraordinary style, but a deep
connection with life as it is today, and what it must have been way
back when.
The read was a great experience, and recommended to anyone who
wants a new outlook the world as it is now, and on life itself.
