Maze Runners is a fascinating book written by James Dashner.This book is for people who like mystery books and surprising twists and turns throughout the story . I personally loved this book because it made my imagination go wild .The words he used were fascinating and cool .The characters he used also came in and out at the perfect timings too. In this book people are arriving at a maze not remembering anything about themselves except for their ages and their names. Its only been boys around the ages between 12-17 . They are learning how to live their lives and beyond the maze are deadly creatures. Every month a boy comes and then one month a girl comes. Thats all about the story Im giving a away but make sure you read it. This book has 3 ones that come after it so its a series. The other books start of from right where you leave off so its great .Hopes you liked my review. My rating for this book is 10 out of 10.

I had a hard time getting into the book at first, because of the perspective the novel is told in the reader is left feeling confused. After the first few chapters you get use to the vernacular, and the unanswered questions are intriguing and entice you to keep reading. The novel was interesting, and I did enjoy it. Just give the novel a chance, it does get better :)

I read the book, the words that the author chose for saying stuff in the book were very confusing, for example "Shank". I know shank as a prison knife, not in this book... When I picked up the book I thought it had some promise but no, I was wrong... The book seems like a good read but it just isn't a very good book... There are many better books out there.

This book is really one of those books that has a lot of buzz and its either you love it or you can't stand it, and unfortunately I really wanted to be one the love it side but I wasn't. Its fine and all, I just didn't love it. I found it reaaaaaally boring most of the time and even though i missed some parts (because my teacher read it at school) i got the main idea, and it basically is just not the book for me. I held off writing a review because I disliked it a lot so yeah. Maybe the next one is better, who knows? :0

I read the maze runner with my class and sometimes I missed some parts but It was still really good. I loved the overall Idea of the book and I loved the characters and the way the author described it. I really liked the plot was was endless fun with lots of ups and downs.

I did enjoy reading this book. I did enjoy the plot and the idea, especially the beginning. It did go somewhat downhill from there. I think my expectations were too high, because I wasn't too impressed. I couldn't relate to the characters, and had trouble picturing some scenes. But other then that, I really did enjoy this book. It was pretty well written, definitely not the worst book (writing wise) I have read, but also not the best written. I loved the whole idea of the maze, and I hope that Dashner doesn't stray too far in the next book, and stays true to the original. The Maze Runner was a good book, and, yes, I am going to read the next book in the series, but I'm not going to rush off right after finishing this book and go straight to chapters and buy it, but I am eager to read it.

The Maze Runner was written by James Dashner and originally published in October 2009 by Delacorte Books for Young Readers. This is the first book in the YA dystopian Maze Runner series. It all starts when, a teenage boy, Thomas wakes up in an elevator and the only thing that he remembers is his name. The elevator deposits him into the ‘Glade’ which is inhabited by other teenage boys and is surrounded by a giant maze. It takes a while for Thomas to figure out that these boys have been left here and have been working for years to find a way out of the maze. Each month there is a new boy that is brought in with Thomas being the latest addition. Normally it takes an entire month until there is someone new but this time something different happens the next day the first girl arrives in the elevator which seems to trigger something important. Thomas is still learning all about his new environment and trying to figure out why he doesn’t remember anything but seems to remember the girl. Each day the designated runners go through the maze and try to find a way out and each night they come and the gates close to the maze. Thomas is shocked to see that inside the maze there are ‘Grievers’ creatures which can attack and kill people. Soon things begin to change and Thomas knows that he somehow has to become a runner and figure out the tricks of the maze. He doesn’t know why but he has been sent here for a reason and he wants to know what that reason is. Wow this book sure was action packed; from the very beginning I wanted to know what was going on and I couldn’t figure it out. Even after finishing the book there are still so many unanswered questions that are driving me crazy meaning of course that I have to pick up the sequel “The Scorch Trials” sooner rather than later. I think that lots of people both boys and girls, young and old will enjoy this story because there is so much to going on that keeps your attention throughout the entire story. It’s a new take on the lost boy story like “Lord of the Flies” which I personally didn’t like. I liked Thomas because I was glad that he kept pushing to get answers from the other boys. I mean if I had just been put into a weird place and didn’t remember anything then I would want to know what was going on. It seemed that the boys were very nonchalant like you will learn things as you need to or whatever. Of course he has a ton of questions because he wants to get the hell out of this maze and back to whatever life he had before. I also enjoyed the other boys especially Chuck the other newbie who kind of took Thomas under his wing and showed him the ropes since he knew what it was like to be the newest boy. It was interesting that they had developed their own slang and ways of doing things; they had a functioning society. Each boy had a job and something that he was responsible for as well they had developed a government of sorts to make sure that decisions were made to benefit the entire group. Like I mentioned before the ending was irritating because I now have to read the next in the series to find out what is going on. I don’t know why it took me so long to read this book because I’ve heard nothing but good things about the entire series. Now that all the books are out as well as the prequel I have no reason to put it off any longer. I will definitely be continuing with the rest of the books, and I will recommend this book to friends for sure. I also read that there is a movie in the works. It has been on the back burner since 2011, but from what I understand there is a script already written by James Dashner himself and a director attached. I hope that it actually gets made. Such a good book!! Kept me on edge through the whole thing and made me want MORE! I even convinced my brother to read it (OMG) and he loved it!!! Definitely going to continue on!

This was a fun read and written well. The characters were all distinctive and the story kept me interested from beginning to end. This had the feel of 'lord of the flies' and elements of the Hunger Games so If you like those books you will probably enjoy Maze Runner.

The Maze Runner started out quite confusing, and I liked it, because we're in the state of mind that the main character, Thomas, is in. Thomas wakes up in a sort of lift kind of thing, and he remembers nothing except his name, just his first name. He arrives in a place called the Glade, where everyone has their own place. It was really interesting just watching Thomas become more and more of a Glader, which is what they call themselves. In the beginning, Thomas was just an awkward guy who felt out of place, he didn't understand why they talked the way they did, and just pretty much the function of the whole place. I really enjoyed just watching him start to belong, even if it didn't last very long. After Thomas came, weird things have been happening, and some people are just picking him out as either a God, or someone who should die. Another thing I really liked was just the setting. The Glade is in the middle of a whole MAZE, hence, The Maze Runner. Runners of the Glade will go out everyday and map out the maze, which changes every night, over night after the walls of the Glade close. Apparently, all of them were sent there to figure out this maze and get the hell out of there, but for 2 years now, they haven't found a way out. I don't know, the idea of a maze scares me because I get lost really easily, but I still love the setting of the whole book. However, The Maze Runner was sort of a slow book, it dragged on for the first half, and things don't really pick up until the middle of the book. I didn't feel the push to just keep reading and reading. In it's defense, the first half felt like a whole lot of development to the point my head hurt. At times, I would be screaming at the characters in my head because some things were just so OBVIOUS. This wasn't what I thought it would be about, I thought that they would be stuck in the maze, and that there would be an opening.. but since the walls moved all the time, it would be hard for them. I didn't expect the Runners to be so good at remember all the patterns of the maze, so I was off about what was going to happen. Overall, this book is a pretty good read, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series, The Scorch Trials. If you're looking for a book that will make you laugh and shiver at the same time, this is for you. OH AND BY THE WAY, sorry to anyone shipping Teresa and Thomas, but I'm going with Minho and Thomas. They are gay for each other, in my head. -coughs- Yea.
