    Strange and Interesting Read 4

When I first started reading this novel, I wasn't certain if I liked it but I felt compelled to continue reading. I'm glad I finished it. Sarah Monette spun a tale that is almost completely character driven, unlike most novels in this genre. The characters are completely human and flawed and even flawed when they are winning against adversity. After finishing the book I immediately purchased the two that follow this excellently written story.

Fantasy cover-art mystifies me... I had to take off this book's jacket while I was reading it because I disliked it so much... but the book itself was… read more
