by John Gray

HARPERCOLLINS PUBLISHERS | January 8, 2004 | Trade Paperback

Using this metaphor to illustrate the commonly occurring conflicts between men and women, Dr. John Gray explains how these differences can come between the sexes and prohibit mutually fulfilling loving relationships. Based on years of successful counseling of couples and individuals, MEN ARE FROM MARS, WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS has helped millions of couples transform their relationships. Now viewed as a modern classic, this phenomenal book has helped men and women realize how different they really are and how to communicate their needs in such a way that conflict doesn?t arise and intimacy is given every chance to grow.

    Dated and stereotypical

I'm going to be honest, I didn't finish it. It is obvious that this book is old, it is dated and stereotypical. The branding of females as illogical and males as out of touch with their emotions is not only passe, but very annoying. Modern women who have long since left the confines of the home and kitchen are much better off reading something like "He's just not that into you" by Greg Behrendt.

We have all heard that "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus", but how many of us actually understand what that means? I thought I did until I read this book. I know now that I didn't understand at all, but reading this book as taught me so much that I'm grateful for. It is helping my Husband and I save our marriage at a very difficult time and I will never regret reading it! It is not enough to say that Men and Women are different but John Gray found the perfect way to underline those differences and make it all easier to understand.

If you are somebody who wants to know more about the opposite sex this book is for you. You will also find you will learn some interesting things about your own gender you didn't know before. It is a light read and has a but of humor in it, definitely not a dry book. I couldn't put it down.
