I was surprised by Evanovich's Metro Girl; she's trying to leave
Stephanie the Bondsman/woman behind and create a new Baltimore
character, but I found the book predictable, tedious in places,
and, unforgiveably, rife with cliches (don't we have editors
anymore?). I did find her conflict character , a NASCAR driver (
Nascar Guy , as he refers to himself) to be funny and engaging, but
that's about it. The rest is formulaic and relies too much on
coincidence.
I found the book definitely a cut BELOW her earlier series, and
won't be waiting eagerly for future adventures in this series.
