A Moment in Time with Centrosaurus

A Moment in Time with Centrosaurus

by Jan Sovak

Troodon Productions Inc. | October 1, 1998 | Hardcover

In this insightful, dramatically illustrated new series, world-renowned palaeontologist Philip J. Currie, with co-authors Eva Koppelhus and Eric P. Felber, employs the fossil record to craft stories that encourage readers to explore a day in the life of a creature from Earth's ancient past.

Fossil evidence springs to life on the page as we follow the long-distance migration of Centrosaurs. Observe the pack hunter Albertosaurus as it searches for migrating dinosaurs. Follow the struggle of Sinosauropteryx to survive a volcano eruption. Follow Troodon's fight to nurture her young and teach them survival skills.

The conclusion of each book presents the fossil evidence from which each story has been developed.

The authors' imaginative but scientifically accurate approach to storytelling is perfectly complemented by 17-23 full-color illustrations from award-winning science illustrator Jan Sovak.

Philip J. Currie is Curator of Dinosaurs at the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology. He is recognized as one of the world's foremost dinosaurian palaeontologists. Jan Sovak's work had been published in over 250 books in more than 15 languages. Eric P. Felber is President of Troodon Productions Inc. and a geologist in the oil and gas industry. Eva B. Koppelhus is a visiting scientist at the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology. She has worked for more than 10 years at the Geological Surveys of Denmark and Greenland.

From Our Editors

Millions of years ago in the Cretaceous period, herds of two and three-tonne Centrosaurs roamed the plains in what is now Alberta and Montana. In fact, the Dinosaur Provincial Park in Canada houses the greatest area of dinosaur bone beds, thought to be the result of mass drowning of this horned dinosaur. A fictional story with plenty of facts to thrill the dino fan, A Moment in Time with Centrosaurus is book three in Philip J. Currie and Eva Koppelhus` series. Featuring marvelous detailed paintings by Jan Sovak, this exploration of a little-known dinosaur in a magnificent prehistoric period offers insight into the Cretaceous age.
