Some of my guilty pleasures include Queen Betsy, Glee and Julia Child. What's not to like about a really tall woman who can cook and was on the same network as Cookie Monster? My life in France is the autobiography of Julia Child, the woman most responsible for introducing French Cooking to America. This is the story of how Julia Child became a Cordon Bleu Chef and introduced French cooking to America with the publication of her cookbook "Mastering the Art of French Cooking". The story also chronicles her move from writiing to performing on the fledgling PBS where she becames a pioneer for the cooking show genre. This story is not only about her love of food, but also about her love of her husband Paul Child who provides all of the beautiful photographs of post-war France for the book.

Buy it or borrow it. It is an interesting read.

Julia's story is fascinating, insightful and amusing. A wonderfully entertaining read.

There is so much more to Julia Child than cooking. "My Life In France" reveals the story of Mrs. Child's complex and fascinating life in France in the wake of WWII and is as much an engaging historical document as it is the breathtaking tale of an incredible individual and the absolutely inspiring life that she lived. There are certainly plenty of details for cooking fans as well.

This is an intensely personal and loving book. It's editing by Julia and Paul Child's grand-nephew from piles of letters that travelled between France and the States, and interviews with Julia right up until her death.
Julia's nature comes through here, as it does in all her writing and television. It's a learning experience, but also the most wonderful story. A hard book to put down & simply wonderful. You'll enjoy this book over and over again.
