Jacques Poulin is the author of eleven novels, many of which have been translated into English, including Wild Cat, Autumn Rounds, Volkswagen Blues, and Spring Tides. He has won both the Governor General''s Literary Award and the Molson Prize for the Arts.

Sheila Fischman is one of Canada''s premier translators. She has translated over 125 books. In 2006, her translation of Pascale Quiviger''s novel The Perfect Circle was short-listed for the Scotiabank Giller Prize, and in 2000, she was named to the Order of Canada.
