With this book comes the introduction of Nash's ex-girlfriend Sabine, a mara, which is a nightmare. Literally. When teachers start dropping dead at their school. Kaylee suspects Sabine. The girl came to their school just as the trouble started, she feeds off people's fears, and she's after Nash. My favorite parts of this book was, as always, the banter between Kaylee and Tod. I'd read a book completely devoted to them sitting around and talking to each other. Their banter and Emma offer a lightness to the story in between the deaths, suspicions, and fights. We also find out more about Alec, the guy who they rescued from Avari in the previous book. This is my favorite book in the series so far, minus the Reaper novella because TOD!. Sabine's presence brings out a fighting side of Kaylee that we usually only see when she's fighting for someone's life and the way Kaylee's so convinced Sabine is guilty even when Nash and Tod aren't because it would be perfect if the mean girl with the criminal past who's after her (ex)boyfriend was guilty is very real teenage girl. The characters in this series continue to pop off the pages and keep me buying the next book.

Rachel sure knows how to play with my emotions. I was ready to cry and then the next moment I was ready to throw my cup of water at the wall. I really really really HATE Sabine. She is like my worst enemy but you know what I kinda like her for that.... It’s a hate-love thing. I know it sounds really weird how can you hate a character but like them as well? Well you see Rachel made her character so easy to hate and I love that! I love having strong emotions to a character to me it feels like the author put a lot of thought and effort into that character. I liked MY SOUL TO STEAL the best so far out of the series for the fact that it made me feel so much and it was a great novel to come right before the epic finale. I have no idea where Rachel is going to go with it but I hope everyone gets who and what they deserve. We learn a lot of background history about Nash which most of it made me feel a whole bunch of different feelings. I don’t want to say what exactly because I don’t want to spoil your emotions for you but I’m sure if you’re a Nash fan you’ll be upset just like me. I think my biggest question I have going into IF I DIE is what is going to happening between Nash and Kaylee? I’m also curious if Tod has romantic feelings for Kaylee? Were they maybe meant to be together? Hmmm don’t ask me why I think Tod may have something for Kaylee – I may be making it up in my own head or maybe it was in a dream that I had...I tend to dream about book I’m reading. Also, I think Harmony and Kaylee’s dad should totally hook up they seem perfect for each other. I suggest that you all go out and buy The Soul Screamer series if you haven’t already.
