Not as good as I expected

As a big fan of both Jaci Burton and Lora Leigh I had high expectations going into this one. Maybe I set myself up for disappointment but I have to say this is not either authors greatest work. I found the suspense angle of Leigh's Nauti Kisses just didn't have the same punch as the rest of the series and we don't really get to know either John Walker or Sierra well enough to get really invested in them. The other Nauti boys as well as Timothy Cranston make an appearance to save the day but I just didn't get the usual vibe from this installment of the series. Burton's Riding the Edge did delivery a little better in the storyline department but I missed the additional involvement that comes with having a full length book to get to know the dangerous male lead. Having said all that as a die hard fan I would not have missed these installments in the Nauti and Wild Rider series but as a warning to others don't go in with too high of expectations. That way if you will pleasantly surprised if/when you disagree with my assessment of the stories and won't be too disappointed if, like me, they left you feeling a little let down.

I totally and completely agree. Both series are really great and these books should probably have been full length novels to really deliver. In my opinion, Leigh's books are progressively getting worse, they simply don't pack their usual punch. Burton, on the other hand, is still dishing out great stories. AJ and Pax's story is up next, and I hope it delivers!

With regards to Lora Leigh I think she does still have lots of great novels coming out. I loved Lion's Heat but she seems to have a book coming out every three months or less and that has to make it hard to be really creative. These stories weren't bad they just weren't as good as I have come to expect from these two writers.
